Artemisia is very effective against malaria, but while clinical trials were being conducted in Africa aimed at effectiveness aganst Malaria, it was noted that 5 patients who were part of the trials had a significant reduction in blood sugars. A recent, unsubstantiated paper from South Africa reports a strong antihypertensive effect of Artemisia afra.
